Our solutions are designed to help you manage you business better, they are many and varied.

 

In the first instance we sit down with you to get an idea of what the business does and why. We then discuss your objectives and how well you have been managing and achieving these based on past experience. Finally we jump to the future and discuss your plans. Not only do we look at successes but we also assess failures.

 

We will review your financial reports, accuracy, timeliness and relevance to decision making. We assess the systems you use to gather, collate, maintain, store and retrieve data. From this data we determine the ability of a transformation into information and ultimately knowledge and how well the organisation reports and utilizes these information systems.

We use numerous templates that we have designed over many years to help us evolve solutions that work and that you are comfortable with.

Bookkeepers Direct

As a guide, the basic bookkeeping offer to organisations is based around an assessment of the transactional activities of the organisation and may be categorised as:

 

Small (pricing is per annum plus GST)

  • Less than 10 employees with an annual payroll value less than $800,000 and operating on one employee Award or Agreement

  • Operating from one site with 2 Business Units reporting to a consolidation process

  • Less than 50 assets on asset register

  • Less than 10 main suppliers with less than 600 supplier invoices annually

  • Less than 10 accounts receivable with less than 500 invoices produced annually

  • One banking institution

  • BAS prepared quarterly

  • Accounts are externally audited

  • No Purchase Order System

 

Medium (pricing is per annum plus GST)

  • Greater than 10 and less than 30 employees with an annual payroll value less than $3m and operating on two employee Award or Agreement

  • Operating from no more than two sites with 4 Business Units reporting on to a consolidation process

  • Less than 100 assets on asset register

  • Less than 30 main suppliers with less than 1,200 supplier invoices annually

  • Less than 50 accounts receivable with less than 1,000 invoices produced annually

  • One banking institution

  • BAS prepared monthly

  • Accounts are externally audited

  • Purchase Order System

Large (pricing per annum plus GST or greater as requirements arise)

  • Greater than 30 employees with an annual payroll value greater than $3m and operating on multiple employee Award or Agreement

  • Operating from no more than three sites with 6 Business Units reporting on to a consolidation process

  • Greater than 100 assets on asset register

  • Greater than 30 main suppliers and greater than 1,200 supplier invoices annually

  • Greater than 50 accounts receivable with greater than 1,000 invoices produced annually

  • Two banking institutions

  • BAS prepared monthly

  • Accounts are externally audited

  • Purchase Order System

 

The bookkeeping/back office services for all three categories will include:

  • Preparation and lodgement of BAS

  • Preparation of standard monthly reports (BU/Programs & Consolidated profit/loss, balance sheet & operational cash flow)

  • Preparation of annual financial reports (working in conjunction with external auditors)

  • Preparation of Funder Acquittal reports

  • Maintenance of Asset Register

  • Payroll, Salary Sacrificing, Superannuation & PAYG preparation and file preparation for authorisation and forwarding to service providers and regulators

  • Electronic Banking facilitation/maintenance

  • Transaction processing (AR & AP) and general ledger reconciliations

  • Access to accounts/details via XERO or MYOB portal. Others upon negotiation

  • CFO or Financial Executive briefing/review of financial reports with brief commentary on key priorities/corrective actions on actual to budget analysis

  • Keeping up-to-date with accounting/financial platform and review for effectiveness annually.

 

Generally we will undertake up to a 4 hour review (free, no obligation) of the organisation’s business to better understand their needs & type of back-office services that would work most effectively for them. It can be an iterative process. Where required, we will integrate our services with existing services/platforms that the organisation may wish to retain.

 

We are also able to provide applications (at client request) that provide biometric interfacing, Rostering, Time/Attendance and Reporting.

Ad hoc work or special project work, undertaken by our bookkeepers is charged at an hourly rate. We can also tailor and price a program suited to your needs.

 

We are also skilled in undertaking budget and forecast modelling including re-modelling of your reporting processes.

Contracts are generally fixed price for 12 months. More details of the above may be provided on request.

We suggest that your current financial management operating system be transferred over to XERO or MYOB (if not already on these platforms). This would entail some work by our team as a ‘one off’ fixed cost based on our assessment of the time involved. As a guide costs are usually between $600 and $1100. We would provide you and your team members with easy access to XERO/MYOB (Cloud based) and also tailor your specific reporting requirements. On-Site Service

Should the organisation require one of team to be on-site either on a weekly or monthly basis to provide the services sought, this may be organised at a small cost.

 

CFO Direct

We like to think that our soft innovation approach provides a difference by offering a service that ‘nudges’ an organisation to do better, even if it leads to changing behaviours (which is often the solution). For an added cost or entirely separate, the client has the opportunity to work more closely with a CFO to undertake:

  • Specific project work – budgeting/forecasting, business case development/review for a specific project/undertaking, funding reviews, funding/financing negotiations, strategic alignment of finance function

  • In depth analytics – unit costing, activity based costing, investment, business performance, cash flow, long-term sustainability and solvency

  • Mentoring/Coaching of finance team and/or CEO and Board on building financial acumen across the organisation

  • Compliance and Contractual reviews

  • Organisational Risk Reviews

  • Developing preferred supplier arrangements

  • Developing more effective, efficient, timely, meaningful and relevant management and board reporting processes at month-end, quarterly and annually including development of enhanced board reports

  • Development of Board Governance policy & practices

  • Understanding/Assessing competitors and dealing with Disruption

  • Creating Disruption and identifying business opportunities

  • Review of banking and other financial funding arrangements

  • Review of business practices and associated processes for all finance and associated functions.

  • Review of business lifecycle stages: doing more of, doing less of, stop doing or start doing.

  • Scenario building for financial robustness for future challenges – creating foresight

  • Training senior staff and budget owners in interpreting financial statements and information for enhanced performance and better alignment to business goals

  • Assisting with Accounting/Finance personnel selection, recruitment and mentoring for fixed price

 

The costs are relative to the engagement plan which may be:

  • Hourly - 

  • Daily - (discounted daily rate)

  • ½ Day Rate 

 

For longer term and on-going arrangements (annual basis) and specific project work fees are negotiable.

We are also able to provide financial assistance/support from qualified Financial Controllers and Managers at agreed rates

CFO Direct contractual arrangements are not ‘locked-in’ and may be broken by providing one month’s notice
